Report about Tusk and Putin in TVP’s “Wiadomości”. They explained where the “PO chief’s fury” came from

One of the main editions of TVP’s “Wiadomości” featured a report about Donald Tusk and the vase he received as a gift from Vladimir Putin. Polish Television suggested that thanks to accepting this gift, the head of PO had a European political career.

On October 9, a pre-election debate took place with the participation of representatives of all national electoral committees. The event was hosted by Michał Rachoń and Anna Bogusiewicz. The event is still echoed in the media, including on TVP.

During the debate, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki asked Donald Tusk about a certain vase. “I know that you received a vase with gold and silver from Vladimir Putin in 2010. What did you get this vase for and how much is it worth?” – said a PiS politician. With his behavior, Morawiecki broke the rules of the debate.

According to the formulas imposed on TVP discussion participants, politicians had a total of seven minutes to answer six questions. Additionally, each of them was given 60 seconds for free expression. However, none of the guests could ask questions of their competitors, nor could they answer them. Nevertheless, the topic of the question about Putin’s vase appeared in “News”.

“The fury of the PO leader”

“Why did Donald Tusk receive a precious vase from Vladimir Putin in 2010? The head of PO did not answer this question to the prime minister during the debate, nor to our reporter immediately after it. What is shocking is that the head of PO most likely received a vessel made of gilded silver from the Russian criminal right after the tragedy. Smolensk,” Edyta Lewandowska noted in the announcement of the report.

Adrian Borecki’s material criticized Tusk’s lack of reference to the case. However, no explanation was given that answering the question during the meeting would involve breaking the rules of the debate. These were determined by Telewizja Polska itself. However, viewers could hear that “the head of PO became furious” – Morawiecki’s question was supposed to be so uncomfortable for him.

The report also suggested that the gift that Donald Tusk was to accept from Putin right after the Smolensk tragedy opened the door to the European career of the PO leader. “An impressive vase made of gilded silver decorated with marble elements” was detailed in the list of gifts that Tusk received in 2010, submitted to the National Electoral Commission. According to buisnessinsider.com.pl, the dish is one of seven items on the list and the only one whose value may exceed half of the lowest salary.
