The film, with a budget of $2 million and an “adults only” category, earned $5.8 million. His feature-length directorial debut was the 1987 film From a Whisper to a Scream, starring Vincent Price, Clu Gulager and Terry Kiser. The horror anthology was one of Price’s last films.

In addition to horror films, Burr directed, for example, “Eddie Presley” from 1992 about an Elvis impersonator with Duane Whitaker in the title role, and the drama about World War II “Straight into Darkness” from 2004.
