She was one of the biggest stars of TVP, and later she fell into the shadow. What does Marta Grzywacz do?

Marta Grzywacz became one of the most recognizable faces on TVP at a very young age. Her affair with Bogusław Bagsik ruined her chance for a great career in public media, but the journalist is still professionally active. What exactly is he doing now?

The 52-year-old journalist started her career in 1992. Then she joined the Radio Eska team, where she prepared and ran newscasts. It is worth mentioning that at that time, Esca did not play “current hits” and the station had a journalistic character.

In the years 1992–1993, she hosted the program ‘Coffee or tea?’ on TVP1 for 9 months, and in the years 1993–2000 she was a reporter and presenter of “Wiadomości”, including the main edition. She was one of the biggest stars of public media, but one situation ended her career there.

She was one of the biggest TVP stars. This situation changed her life 180 degrees

One day, Grzywacz interviewed Bogusław Bagsik, who was the founder of the Art B company. At that time, he was called “the biggest scandalist of the Third Polish Republic”, and the famous journalist began to develop a relationship with him, which turned into an affair. Later it turned out that their relationship was very serious, and the couple even had a child.

However, the relationship with Bogusław Bagsik was not welcomed by the then TVP management. After some time, the journalist was released. “I just didn’t find my name on the duty schedule one day,” Marta Grzywacz said years ago.

The journalist became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter, but the child’s father was certainly not a good candidate for a life partner. Bagsik was imprisoned many times, he was wanted and an arrest warrant was even sent out for him. Marta Grzywacz’s relationship with the scandal ended in 2001, after which she took a two-year break from working in the media.

Marta Grzywacz constantly works in the media, but not everyone knows about it

In 2003 she started writing for newspapers. She collaborated with such titles as “Gala”, “Sukces” and “Zwierciadło” (from 2003 to 2006). In 2005, she returned to the world of television, but on a much smaller scale. She was the publisher and host of the “Diagnoza” program on the now defunct Polsat Zdrowie i Uroda channel.

In 2006, she was employed at RMF FM, where until 2012 she hosted, among others, weekend programs. This work even involves a small acting episode, because Grzywacz played an RMF FM journalist in the TVN series “Majka”.

After finishing her cooperation with the most listened to radio station in Poland, she returned to television. She started hosting the “Cafeteria” program on Polsat Cafe (which, incidentally, replaced the Polsat Zdrowie Uroda station). Moreover, she constantly cooperated with the paper press. She wrote, among others: to “Focus”, “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Wysokie obcasy”. Her specialty is customs, history, art and art history, including topics related to looted works.

The journalist has also won literary awards

Since 2017, she has been cooperating with “Newsweek” magazine, where we can still read her articles today. Moreover, in the same year she published her first book entitled “Treasure Protector. Karol Estreicher – in search of looted works of art”, which is a fictionalized reportage. In it, Grzywacz describes the actions taken by the title character to recover the Veit Stoss altar from St. Mary’s Basilica in Kraków, looted by the Nazis.

She also published the book “Our lady from Ravensbrück. Historia Johanny Langefeld” by Wilga publishing house, for which she received the Upper Silesian Literary Award “Juliusz”. She is also a journalist for the online radio station Halo.Radio and an audiobook reader. She lives in Warsaw with her daughter Sonia, who bears her surname. He is reluctant to talk about his private life now
