The war in Israel affects not only the people living there, but also numerous tourists. From one day to the next, the Australian actor found himself in the middle of the conflict.

Australian actor Hugh Sheridan was on holiday in Israel when the war began. The man reported on social media escaping from Hamas bombs and also mentioned the festival where over 260 people died. He was supposed to be one of the people having fun there, but he decided not to participate at the last minute.

Hugh Sheridan was having a barbecue with friends the evening before the Hamas attacks on Israel. There was no sign of the outbreak of war a few hours later. The man was offered to take part in the event, which was later invaded by Hamas militias. So far, over 260 victims have been counted, but some people ended up as hostages in Palestine and, unfortunately, it is possible that they will not return home.

On Saturday evening we had a barbecue. I was invited to a party, offered a ticket, I was supposed to be at this festival. People were there to collect money for the Israeli “Burning Man”, which was to take place in six weeks. These are ordinary, good people who care about the planet and just wanted to have fun and dance with nature for a while… Recent reports say that there were 250 innocent victims. I can’t believe I didn’t go there. It’s only now that it dawns on me, Sheridan wrote on social media.

His friends reported that bomb scares woke them up at 6 a.m. They were told to go to shelters, Tel Aviv was a ghost town – there was no one on the streets, everything was closed, sirens were screaming. There were traces of anti-missile defense in the sky (Israel managed to knock down most of the missiles fired from Gaza, but not all).

There were many explosions heard all around. Yesterday everything was normal, as usual – it’s terrifying how everything has changed in less than 24 hours. For a long time we did not understand the seriousness of the situation. We will try to get to the airport, we hope that we will be able to get out of here on any flight to any destination – we will probably have to fly separately – said the actor in the recording.

After almost a day of trying, the men escaped from Israel to Greece and are now safe. However, they posted photos from Ben Gurion airport – the information boards show that the vast majority of flights from Israel have been canceled, and the airport itself is crowded with scared tourists.
