“Game for votes” is a pre-election podcast in which politicians have a chance to convince viewers and listeners before the upcoming parliamentary elections. Former MP Joanna Mucha appeared in one of the last episodes of the program.
Third Way MP about TVP. She gave a cryptic answer
Joanna Mucha served as the Minister of Sport and Tourism in 2011-2013. For years, she was associated with the Civic Platform, with which she left in 2021, when she joined the Polska 2050 movement. Currently, the MP is a candidate in the Sejm elections on behalf of the Third Way – a coalition established by the Polish People’s Party and Szymon Hołownia’s Polska 2050.
Among many questions about the Third Way’s plans to improve life in Poland, the topic of Opponents of the ruling party are concerned about the condition of the public media and are counting on changes. Mucha did not want to reveal what the coalition was planning. “We should not reveal them so as not to give PiS time to secure some opportunities for the movement. I will only say that one of the most important institutions that decides how the media is shaped is an unconstitutional institution” – Joanna Mucha replied, referring to the National Media Council.
The MP emphasized that Third Way is not interested in “filling TVP with its own people.” Mucha’s priority is primarily the depoliticization of this area. “We have developed a plan regarding public media. We want to depoliticize public media, so that politicians cannot touch public media,” the MP announces.
Joanna Mucha on earnings at TVP: We need to check whether there has been fraud
Joanna Mucha also noted that people currently employed at Telewizja Polska will be thoroughly checked. The MP has doubts about the correctness of the contracts concluded with TVP faces. He points out that, according to the report of the Supreme Audit Office, top television stars earn very large amounts of money. An example is Danuta Holecka, whose salary ranges from PLN 40,000 to PLN 50,000. PLN per month plus extras. “This matter needs to be investigated very carefully, because these presenters had signed several contracts that covered the same scope of duties. It is necessary to check whether there was any kind of fraud,” explains Joanna Mucha in the podcast.
The program also had its share of mishaps. When asked where Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was recently fighting for votes, the MP admitted that she did not know because she was very busy at the time. At that time, the politician visited the MP’s hometown – Lublin. “Isn’t it a bit of a shame that ‘number one’ in Lublin didn’t know that one of the leaders of the Third Way was there?” – said the host of the program. Joanna Mucha admitted her mistake and noted that she actually received photos from the event that day. “I missed it somewhere,” she said.
