Rape in the movie “Chłopi”. The film Boryna talks about the most difficult scene to shoot
The role of Antek Boryna was played by Robert Gulaczyk, who had previously lent his voice to Vincent Van Gogh in the film “Loving Vincent”, made in the same technique as “Ch³opi”. The actor talked about which scene in the film was the most difficult to shoot.
“The most difficult scene for me to play was the rape scene with Jagna. Mainly because there had to be violence and it had to be credible. But we were also at such a stage with Kamila Urzędowska, who played Jagna, that we became emotionally attached to these characters and we knew their previous fates perfectly. It was a difficult and brutal ending to this story, this romance between them, this love,” the artist recalls in an interview with Gazeta.pl.
“We felt very safe”
The actor also revealed that on the set of “Peasants” there was no coordinator for intimate scenes, who appear on the set more and more often to support the creators. “We shot these scenes in 2020, and the coordinators started appearing on Polish film sets around that time, so it wasn’t as widely promoted as it is today,” explains Gulaczyk.
At the same time, the actor emphasizes that the director of the film provided great support to the artists when it came to difficult scenes. “We were lucky that Dorota Kobiela, the director of the film, approached all the love and undress scenes with great care, so we felt very safe,” the actor emphasizes.
The Polish premiere of the film “Chłopi” is scheduled for October 13, currently the film is being shown in selected cinemas during pre-premiere screenings. Gazeta.pl is the media patron of the production.
