We have been able to watch her as a presenter on air since 2009. At that time, she hosted “Informacje” and the “New Day” section. She was diagnosed in 2017 and began treatment shortly thereafter.
What was the fate of Joanna Górska after the diagnosis?
She resigned from her on-air work in 2021. She went through a very exhausting experience that caused her great trauma. “I was afraid of the red color, red liquids, various smells that reminded me of the hospital,” Joanna Górska told “Onet”. Ultimately, the presenter underwent 25 sessions of radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy, after which she suffered numerous strokes.
Joanna Górska managed to recover. She announced she was in remission, although she still feared the devastating disease. She went for check-ups earlier than the doctor recommended. “I wanted to keep my finger on the pulse. At the same time, I was doing myself a lot of harm because I was living from one test to another. First, I was happy with the results, and then I was worried about what would happen later,” she said.
After completing the treatment, she dreamed that her life would look like before. Unfortunately, this turned out to be impossible. “I wanted to live the way I used to, but it turned out that it was no longer available,” she explained. To work through her trauma, the presenter went to individual and group psychotherapy. Psychological help brought the expected results, and Górska enjoys life again. Currently, the former Polsat presenter works for a foundation she founded with her fiancé, with whom she has already written two books. The second publication concerns the fight against cancer.
