One swallow doesn’t make a spring, and one fly doesn’t make a plague? Unfortunately, we may be wrong here. It happens that the so-called bugs fall into us through an open window or door. Then, before we turn around, we’ll be fighting dozens of flies.
Drugs are expensive. In addition, they irritate the respiratory tract
Many people fight flies with medications that can be purchased in stores. These are mainly flypapers, toxic sprays that irritate the respiratory tract, or special lamps that literally roast everything that flies inside. If we don’t have any of these things at hand, in desperation we resort to standard methods, i.e. a trowel, a cloth or a slipper.
First of all, general cleaning
It turns out that you don’t need expensive solutions to get rid of flies at home. The basic issue, of course, is to get rid of all food and its remains from the “sight”. We should throw the leftovers into the garbage, and it is best to take them outside immediately. If we are fighting against a fly plague, it will also be mandatory to wash garbage bins, which may still contain larvae or eggs. You should also make sure to wash the dishes and sink regularly.
Secondly, it’s a good scare
You can use cheap methods to get rid of flies from your home. Basically, all we need are products that we have at home in most cases. Flies, like other insects, avoid intense odors. They especially don’t like vanilla, eucalyptus, mint and apple cider vinegar. Therefore, it is worth placing containers with vanilla, eucalyptus or mint oil and vinegar in strategic places where there are the most flies. These insects also do not like the aroma of cloves, which will certainly please fans of autumn weather. We can use clove oil, which will fill the space and quickly drive away unwanted tenants.
It is good to protect yourself against flies in advance. Mosquito nets on windows and doors work great. Additionally, it is worth placing pots of peppermint on the windowsills. Its scent will also effectively repel insects.
