Piotr Gąsowski revealed the backstage of the performance at the Million Hearts March. Many refused him

Piotr Gąsowski performed with his friends on stage during Sunday’s Million Hearts March. He told us what the preparations looked like.

The following people appeared on stage during the Million Heart March: Andrzej Piaseczny, Czesław Mozil, Joanna Szczepkowska, Kasia Mo¶, Małgorzata Ostrowska, Majka Jeżowska, Michał Żebrowski and Urszula. They performed the song “I Love Freedom” by the Boys from Plac Broni.

Piotr Gąsowski: I thought about gathering people from the community during the previous march

Piotr Gąsowski said that the idea for such a performance appeared during the June 4th March. – I thought about gathering people from the community during the previous march. Then I thought about actors, but I got around to it too late. We split up and started calling. We were trying to figure out what song it would be. Majka [Jeżowska – red.] she said that a new arrangement should be made so that it wouldn’t be so pathetic. I quickly started an acting group and she a vocal group. (…) It was something amazing – said Gąsowski in “Onet Rano”.

The presenter mentioned that some of the artists he invited to appear on stage did not accept the invitation. They explained that they did not want to get involved in political matters. – I respect it very much, because I prefer someone to tell me something like that honestly, rather than speaking in general terms – commented Gąsowski.

They sang together with Tusk

Gąsowski is particularly pleased that Donald Tusk was with them during the performance. – After he had already delivered his speech, we came up with the idea to sing it now. He was coming down – then I ran for him: “Donald, come here to the stage.” That’s why we had the effect that he was with us at the very end of the event – he said.

During the Million Hearts March, the chairman of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, and – among others – the leaders of the Left, Rober Biedroń and Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, spoke to the participants from the stage at the Dmowskiego roundabout.
