– We created an honest film into which we – the creators – put a lot of our own emotions. It’s great that we can be proud of the very good reception of the film by the Polish audience so quickly – says Michał Gazda. – Thanks to the great support of the producer [Magdaleny Szwedkowicz – red.] and cooperation with Netflix, we were able to fully realize our artistic vision, and the effects can be seen on the screen. I am satisfied with what we managed to achieve and I wish all filmmakers similar experiences in working on films and in contact with the audience – says the director of “Quack”.
In Poland, “Znachor” is unrivaled. In the world also with a great result
The film, based on the classic novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, apart from being enthusiastically received by Polish viewers, also found fans around the world. In the global ranking of the most popular foreign-language films on Netflix, “The Quack” took second place with 11.9 million views.
The story about Professor Wilczur/Antoni Kosib and his relationship with his daughter is another Polish Netflix project. So far, he has produced nearly 40 domestic films and series. Last year alone, the website invested PLN 400 million in local productions. “Quack” receives great reviews (). It is also received positively by many Polish viewers.
