With the help of the new pension calculator, you can independently calculate how much your benefit will be approximately based on your current earnings. This is a forecast amount, granted for the first time and under the current rules. For this reason, it can be used by people who are not yet receiving benefits. Of course, do not forget that it is not the basis for settlements within the meaning of the law, but is only intended to outline the expected pension you will receive in the future.

How is your pension calculated? The calculator takes three factors into account
The amount of the pension is calculated based on the amount of insurance contributions saved divided by the average life expectancy, the latter of which is announced by March 31 each year. This means that they may change regularly. According to estimates, in 2023, a woman who retired at the age of 60 will have 254.3 months of further life ahead of her, i.e. over 21 years. In the calculator, it works like this: ZUS divides the basis for calculating the pension (i.e. the amount of contributions) by the average life expectancy of people who will be the same age as us when we decide to retire.. To calculate the amount of the benefit for specific earnings, ZUS takes into account:
- start-up capital,
- deferred contributions,
- funds from the OFE subaccount.
How much can your pension be if you earn PLN 3,000? zloty? The amount is surprising
This year’s pension indexation was record-breaking. Seniors could count on not only a percentage increase (14.8%), but also an amount increase, which meant that everyone received a minimum of PLN 250 gross more. From March 1, 2023, the minimum pension is PLN 1,588.44 gross. What payouts can we count on in the future? According to simplified and indicative calculator calculations carried out by the portal, people who currently earn PLN 3,000 gross (i.e. less than the lowest national wage), they cannot count on high wages . Assuming that:
- started working at the age of 25,
- retired at the age of 60,
- resigned from OFE,
over 35 years they have collected PLN 245,952 in their account. This means that their monthly benefit will be only approximately PLN 967, which is less than the minimum. If you want to calculate how much your pension may be in the future yourself, you need to log in to the PUE ZUS portal, select the “insured” tab and then “pension calculator”, go through the entire process and fill in the missing information, and at the end you will receive a summary.
