This Sunday, October 1, we commemorate the Ecuadorian Corridor Day, musical genre that represents the country and its traditions. For this reason, cultural spaces pay a well-deserved tribute to the genre of romance and nostalgia.

Hallways to dedicate!: a musical journey to new songs under the genre ‘Nightingale of America’

The first activity will take place in the Museum of Popular Music, Where A tribute is paid to Julio Jaramillo through the voice of Fernando Vargas, Olguita Zúñiga and the Cuadrado sisters. This musical encounter It’s scheduled for Saturday, September 30 at 3 p.m., in the museum in the El Astillero building (floor 2), in Puerto Santa Ana (Guayaquil). Free entrance.

In Quito the Hall Museum A special program has also been prepared to commemorate this date. A commemoration of Julio Jaramillo will take place until next Sunday, October 1. While the rest of the month will continue with more activities highlighting various prominent figures from national music. A tribute to Carlota Jaramillo is planned for October 6, a tribute to the Duo Benítez and Valencia on October 13, a tribute to Los Brillantes and Valencia on October 20. On October 27 they will end the month with an acoustic hallway karaoke.

Another of those places that prepare an activity dedicated to this date is the Cino Fabiani Housein the Las Peñas neighborhood, with the program called ‘Night of the Halls’ which promises to offer a playful, immersive and interactive experience where the corridor plays the leading role.

With the aim of cultivating the love of national music, musicians Sonia Rivadeneira, in the voice; Marco Mena, on electric bass; Juan Alavain the requinto; Emilio Tumbaco, on the guitar; And Jorge Garcia, On percussion they present a repertoire dedicated to the audience.

That same day, inside Sucre National Theater of Quito, called a corridor festival ‘Gang: from love to uprooting’. This musical proposal is presented by the Metropolitan Symphonic Band of Quito together with important artists of the country, such as Ilyari, Pancho Terán, Julio Andrade, Chinatsu Maeda.

They will also be part of this consideration Children’s Choir and Mixed Choir of the City of Quito, under musical direction Benito Tayupanda and with musical arrangements by Marcelo Beltrán, Giovanni Mera and Luis Garrido.
