Where music meets freedom. They follow their heart and talent

Strong, energetic beats and words that give courage – this is Avi’s new song, “Grand Prix”. The artist raps about values that are always worth fighting for. An atmospheric, film-like music video that tells the story of two friends dreaming of success in the boxing ring. However, dreams don’t end there, they just go for their own thing. In the world of sports, just like in music, what counts is work, consistency and talent.

“Don’t be afraid to go against the grain and reach for the highest goals! Check out my latest clip “Grand Prix”!” – wrote Avi on his Instagram profile @avi-sycylijczyk. Avi is one of the most important and widely respected Polish rappers. The musician’s work has earned the recognition of fans who know that they can always count on his talent. Now Avi took part in the PUMA Talents project. The brand celebrates its 75th anniversary and supports sports and musical talents.

Art counts

Avi has three great albums, which he recorded with Louis Villain – “Collection of Sicilian Songs”, “List of Sicilian Works” and “Academy of Fine Arts”. They gave him a prominent place on the Polish rap scene. On March 31, 2023, the artist released a solo album “Mały Ksią¿ê”, which went platinum in May.

Avi makes himself known primarily through his art. He gives interviews sparingly. However, when he decides to talk, he talks honestly about his life and artistic path. About the fight against addictions and why it is worth following your calling, even though this path may be difficult. As it turns out, one of his strong fascinations is sport. The rapper graduated in psychology, was very interested in sports psychology and had a moment in his life when he wanted to become a sports journalist. However, he was destined for music professionally. It’s safe to say that he followed his heart and chose artistic freedom.

PUMA Talents is a project supporting young, talented performers who are not afraid to go against the grain and showing that talent does not always go hand in hand with popularity and acceptance of the environment. However, when you follow in his footsteps, anything can become possible. Then “the sky is the limit”, and you always go faster and faster, i.e. “forever” and “faster”. In previous years, brand ambassadors included: rappers Hodak and Kukon and Daria Zawia³ow, who invited Ralph Kaminski and Schafter to cooperate. Each time, the result of musical cooperation is inspiring songs and music videos. This year belongs to Avi, who is accompanied in the clip by another increasingly important figure on the music scene, Jann.

“I’m interested in the main prizes”

The words “Grand Prix” were written by Avi. “I’m interested in the main prizes, I respect the gold around my neck, but you know that it’s not the kind that can be bought, but the kind that they won themselves” – this is how the lyrics of the song begin. The music video tells the story of two boys from a car repair shop who are passionate about boxing. After work, they train in the garage. They don’t give up, they put everything on one card. There are great emotions and high-stakes games, a night city and fast motorcycles. Avi plays the role of the young athletes’ manager, and Jann appears in the ring as a judge.

“When you see the goal, then run. We will finally win the Grand Prix” – these are the words of the song. Avi incorporated into the text the figures of such sports giants as the legendary footballer Diego Maradona and Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. They went against the grain and disregarded conventions. Thanks to this, Maradona scored a goal with his hand and ensured that Argentina advanced to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 1986, and Hamilton won a record number of championship titles.

Passion and perseverance count!

“Grand Prix” in its textual, musical and narrative layers refers to Puma’s slogan, i.e. Forever. Faster (Always. Faster). It is a synonym for motivation, fighting for the future, striving for perfection despite everything. What counts is passion and perseverance. In this way, Puma encourages people to overcome their weaknesses and fight for a better tomorrow. Avi is the embodiment of the slogan “Forever” here, because he is faithful to his artistic path. Fans appreciate him for his authenticity and uncompromising nature. Jann, on the other hand, is at the beginning of his musical path. His talent has recently exploded and is gaining crazy momentum. He is the epitome of the slogan “Faster”. Jann was on everyone’s lips after this year’s preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest. He conquered the audience with the song “Gladiator” and ultimately took second place in the race for the Eurovision stage. He did not go to the competition, but he has a constantly growing group of fans and constantly gives concerts.
