The pictorial exhibition ‘Intermediate Space’ by the Quito artist Sonia Rosales will open this Friday, September 29, 2023 at 7:00 PM at the Casa de las Artes la Ronda, located at No. 989 Juan de Dios Morales Street and Venezuela, in the city of Quito.
This proposal consists of 52 works of different formats. The largest size is 1.60 X 1.60 cm. and the smallest, 23 x 30 cm, revealing that elusive place governed by intuition, dream images and experiences of sacred order. The challenge of his quest is to make these elusive experiences visible in his art.
The techniques that make your project possible are Chinese ink, ‘gongbi’ detail painting using natural pigments extracted from plants and minerals, and mixed painting techniques. The carriers are paper, watercolor cardboard and canvas.
The artist studied art for seven years at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China.
This exhibition is on view until November 5, 2023. The public can view it from Tuesday to Wednesday, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm; Thursday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm; and Sunday, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. (JO)
