He wrote that they should receive a “fine and a warning” for gambling. The band wrote a song for him

The Nocny Kochanek group has published the first single from the upcoming album. “Dariusz” is a song dedicated to the author of one of the unfavorable comments after the band’s concert at the Ursynów Days in Warsaw.

is currently one of the most popular metal bands in Poland. The artists focused on pastiche and satire in their work. Musically, they imitate their greatest idols, and with lyrics they make people laugh, often based on stereotypes or telling absurd stories. Due to its simple humor (although often conveyed with sophisticated metaphors and stylistic devices) and songs whose aim is to entertain rather than revolutionize music, Nocny Kochanek stands at a crossroads.

Nocny Kochanek published the latest song “Dariusz”

The metal community does not fully accept a band that makes fun of its rebellious sounds, a symbol of counterculture. In turn, for many people present at more commercial events (the artists have already played at both the Feel and Ich Troje jubilee), Kochanek’s music is too heavy and the subject matter… dark. Therefore, when the band appears on subsequent city days or other open events, there are people who are not very happy with their presence.

This was the case of Mr. Dariusz, who after one of the non-ticketed concerts of Nocny Kochanek in Warsaw, decided to express his outrage with the band on social media. “You should burn with shame for this,” he wrote. He accused the band of homophobia and lyrics promoting “sex and drinking.” He said the group should receive a “fine and a specific warning.”

In a conversation with Justyna Bryczkowska, Krzysiek Sokołowski – vocalist of Nocny Kochanek, referred to similar comments, of which there were many comments about the band at the time. “I don’t know if the problem doesn’t result from the fact that some people take our texts seriously. Maybe they think that we actually think that they say ‘you went’ instead of ‘you went’? Maybe someone really thinks that when writing about this girl with the kebab, we are super serious and we are in love with her and this garlic sauce bothers us so much?” – the artist commented on the questionable lyrics.

He wanted them to get fined for their concert. They recorded a song for him

Nocny Kochanek emphasizes that the themes for his songs come from life. The band decided to refer to reality once again and wrote a song especially for the disgusted guest of the memorable concert. The song “Dariusz” announces the group’s sixth studio album and refers to the accusations made against the band by a disgusted listener. “I’m giving up alcohol and other stimulants,” Nocny Kochanek promises to Mr. Darek. Later in the text, the lyrical subject dreams of legalizing the relationship with the object of his feelings. “I was looking for him everywhere, I found him in the capital. Let the mayor of the district marry us” – he refers to the concert in the text, after which the now famous comment appeared.

This is not the first time Nocny Kochanek meets critics. After recording their debut album, the artists were labeled “metal traitors”. They had no intention of denying the catchy phrase, instead they recorded an entire album with that title. Among other things, they told the story of a man who replaced listening to Slayer with singing George Michel’s songs, and what’s worse – he also shaved his armpits.
