They published a video of a giant condom on a national monument. Netflix outraged residents: Lack of respect

A recording appeared on the official Netflix Instagram in which one of the monuments in Buenos Aires was “dressed” in a giant pink condom. The promotion of the final season of the series “Sex Education” was not appreciated by those commenting on the film.

On September 21, the fourth season of the hit series “Sex Education” appeared on the platform. The creators of the production announced that this is the last series focusing on the problems of teenagers from Moordale. The episodes have a slightly more serious tone, and their characters slowly begin to enter adulthood.

Netflix promotes the fourth season of “Sex Education”. The recording is controversial

The premiere of the series is, of course, accompanied by extensive promotion. Creative billboards referring to the production also appeared in Poland. Promotional photos with the eloquent slogan “we finish together” show the characters of the series reaching orgasm. However, the biggest sensation was caused by a video showing a monument in Argentina.

A video from Buenos Aires appeared on the official Netflix Instagram. In reference to sexual education, which is the main theme of the series, the recording shows a condom placed on one of the local monuments.

We are talking about a monument called El Obelisco, which was built in 1936 on the 400th anniversary of the settlement of the first Spanish settlers in Río de la Pata. It is a city card that is often used for promotional purposes. On the 30th anniversary of the so-called The Night of the Pencils monument was turned into a giant pencil.

“How do you explain to children why this is on the monument?”

As we read on world-today-news.com, the viral video of a condom decorated with the Netflix logo falling on the monument was computer-generated. Despite this, the recording was met with huge criticism from commentators. “What kind of idea is this to ruin monuments?”, “Who allowed it?”, “Disrespect”, “This is an exaggeration” – say the inhabitants of Argentina in the comments. “How do you explain to children why this is on the monument?” – asks one of the outraged commentators. The answer to the last question is worth looking for in a series that educates not only teenagers, but also their parents, who also struggle with many challenges when their children grow up.

While El Obelisco wasn’t actually covered in a condom for the Netflix series’ fourth season premiere, it did happen 18 years ago. In 2005, during World AIDS Day, a pink condom decorated the national monument to remind residents of the need for tests and to use protection during intercourse.
