The emblematic band of the Ecuadorian North American Center (CEN), the CEN Jazz Ensemble, organizes the concert Funk away in Guayaquil to offer a musical experience that combines funk, jazz, soul and R&B. Teacher led Freddy BolañosThe concert will take place on Thursday, October 5 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lucho Silva Parra auditorium, at the CEN headquarters, at Luis Urdaneta 112 and General Córdova. A maximum of 450 spectators are expected, who will be admitted free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
The CEN Jazz Ensemble, active since 2012, distinguishes itself by its ability to merge jazz with other music styles. The lineup features Joel Icaza at the piano, Xavier Jeldes To the bass, Andrés Echanique on guitar, Andres Figueroa on battery and Harry Game on saxophone. Vivianna Gomeza renowned singer who has previously collaborated with them will act as a guest artist for this occasion.
The general director of CEN, Deborah Chiriboga High, mentions that the band was well received in several cities such as Quito, Cuenca, Portoviejo, Santo Domingo and Galapagos. The repertoire consists of songs from Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonderamong other things.
CEN promotes these types of events to strengthen the cultural connection between Ecuador and the United States and provide enriching experiences that intensify the cultural identity of participants.
