From September 22, everyone interested in the film “” can form their own opinion about Agnieszka Holland’s famous work. The premiere of the cinema production was accompanied by protests and a rather tense atmosphere. The director, who received an award at this year’s Venice festival, admitted that she had to organize 24-hour security after the hate she received.
Mateusz Morawiecki once again criticized the film “The Green Border”
Unfortunately, scandalous comments about Agnieszka Holland in Poland are approved from the very top. The film was reviewed in shameful terms by, among others, Andrzej Duda. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also referred for the second time to “propaganda preparations for the dismantling of the barrier with Belarus” – as he described the film.
During the meeting in Świdnik, the head of government explained: “Our political opponents want to unleash a festival of contempt based on the film ‘The Green Border’. They want to defile the Polish uniform. They want to desecrate the honor of the Polish soldier and officer. This is an attempt to return to the terrible pedagogy of shame, which you well remember from years 1990-2015, when the dominant media slandered the Polish name. However, this comment clearly did not exhaust the topic.
“Ms. Holland wants to show with this video that we are racists.”
During the #kameraUpremiera live broadcast series, which can be watched on social media, Morawiecki again spoke about Agnieszka Holland’s production. He said that “The film turns us Poles into a bunch of ignorant people, primitives, people who don’t deserve any respect.”
In his statement, the Prime Minister also referred to the differences between refugees. He explained why Poles were more willing to help Ukrainians when the war began. “Ms. Holland wants to show with this film that we are racists, that we took these people under our roof because they were culturally similar to us and only because of that. No, above all, we understand politics, geopolitics. Poles understand the importance of the war in Ukraine and that is why We did it. Out of the need of the heart, but also out of political calculations. Poles understand very well what is in our interest,” adds the politician quoted by Onet.
“With this film, Ms. Holland and the Civic Platform and Tusk deserve the highest condemnation, because this film is in fact the apogee of the pedagogy of shame, of everything that was so shameful and disgraceful in all the activities of the media of the Third Polish Republic, the pseudo-elites of the Third Polish Republic,” Morawiecki sums up.
