The loves in Julio Iglesias’ life have always been a source of press coverage, but his 33-year relationship with Miranda Rijnsburger is something else. With the Dutch model, he left a reputation as a womanizer, and she found “such an amazing man” who became her partner for the last three decades.

Miranda’s love for Julio Iglesias is endless, which she herself made known in a letter she sent exclusively to Hola magazine on the occasion of the artist’s 80th birthday, and which is quoted today by La Vanguardia.

“On this special day, on your 80th birthday, I want to tell you how much I love you and how grateful I am to have had such an amazing man like you by my side for these 33 wonderful years. We shared laughter, tears, adventures and created a beautiful family with five beloved children,” reads an excerpt from the letter published by the magazine.

In it, Miranda Rijnsburger admits that her “dear Julio” is the reason for her happiness “and the pillar of our life together”, so she wishes him health, happiness and as many unforgettable moments as possible.

This is not the only letter that the 57-year-old Dutch woman wrote talking about Julio Iglesias. 33 years ago, he dedicated a few lines on a piece of paper to mention the singer he had just met.

What did Miranda Rijnsburger’s first letter say about Julio Iglesias?

The Spanish press has known about the couple’s love story since the very beginning, when they met at the airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was barely 25 years old and was there because of modeling commitments, El Mundo recalls.

At the age of 47, he arrived in that Asian country to hold a concert to which he invited Miranda, whom he fell in love with at first sight. She accepted and the next invitation was to accompany him on his tour of Asia, so she then took the next step and left him for granted in a letter she sent to herself.

She sent the letter to her home in Leimuiden, south of Amsterdam, and in it she said “to go with him”, it was a kind of record “in case something happens to her”, according to the Spanish media. A year later, in 1991, he was already living with Julio Iglesias in Indian Creek, Miami.

The couple fell in love and together they started a family with five children together, Miguel Alejandro, Rodrigo, twins Victoria and Cristina, and Guillermo. In August 2010, they made their 20-year relationship official with a discreet wedding in Marbella at the request of their children.

“I believe I brought peace and tranquility to Julio’s life,” Miranda commented in one of the few interviews he gave to reporters, according to Nius Diario after quoting him.

Not only did she win his heart after the artist’s depressive crisis, but she quickly won the affection of his first three children, Chabela, Julio José and Enrique, the result of Julio’s first marriage to Isabel Preysler.

“Her success is that she knew how to follow him, always remaining discreetly in the background,” says the publication about the woman who tries to keep her life away from the media world, which makes her the “perfect woman” for the artist.

It was said that the couple lives in separate houses, but it is not known that there was ever a crisis between them. It is true that the family will meet in the Bahamas to celebrate Julio Iglesias’ 80th birthday on September 23. (AND)
