Guillermo Hidalgo: Margarita, tell us where you were when you found out about this award?
Daisy flower: The story begins because We were selected as a film to participate in the Orizzonti category of the Venice Film Festival and for me that was already good news. I didn’t know that actors were awarded in that category. And when we went to the premiere, which happened 8 days before the award, I stayed a few days with my family in Venice, then we went to Amsterdam and I had already finished an episode of the film, Then we went to London, and one of the producers of the film called me at the door of the plane and asked me where I was and if he could take me back to Venice, and for me it was a huge shock.Yes, it was very unexpected for me. I believed that the film could win something and indeed it did, it won the award for best screenplay.
Guillermo: You had to learn Italian for this film, but Italian from the streets, the one from Rome, that old Italian
Daisy flower: Since this character is a Colombian woman living on the outskirts of Rome for more than 40 years, it is assumed that she is learning the Italian spoken on the street, in the suburbs of Rome, that is not standard Roman, which I also had to learn. to get along well with the director and the team and, at the same time, that other informal and unusual way of speaking Italian and for that I needed two coaches.

Guillermo: I interviewed you during the press conference for your Disney series, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and my question was if you would return to films with a real role, and now the real role has arrived.
Daisy flower. Yes, that’s right. I never have expectations regarding my acting career because I am very satisfied with what happened to me, what I did, that was enough for me. Even before I received this recognition I felt that I was well served. And now that it happened, even more. I won’t anymore.
Guillermo: Have politics and your opinions brought you problems in your country?
Daisy flower: Yes, they brought me trouble. I don’t know if there are as many problems as antipathy, because before my political declaration I was much more loved. I believed that everyone loved me in Colombia, only when I started using Twitter and was very political, although not in a party sense, but from my point of view as a woman, as a citizen, as a person, as a participant. in the society we are building together, that is what I consider political. And from there I gained many enmities, they say unpleasant things to me.
Guillermo: You were the first girlfriend of many Ecuadorians of my generation with Café con aroma de mujer (1994) and your memory remains in people’s memories. How do you feel when they come up to you and say such things?
Daisy flower: That moves me a lot. This happens to me in airports because I meet Ecuadorians who tell me this. Apart from the fact that the experience I had when I went to sing in Ecuador was very powerful, I also remember it as something very significant in my career. That stay there, those concerts, that passion, the feeling of being home even then When I meet Ecuadorians in other parts of the world and they greet me with this familiarity, it seems to me that it is a gift of life.
