“Infamia” has been available on Netflix since September 6 and the production immediately jumped into the ranking of the 10 most watched series in Poland. The series is currently in second place, and both domestic and foreign reviewers praise the production. The New York Times editorial team compared it to another Netflix hit, “Unorthodox,” which depicts the Orthodox Jewish community.
“Infamia” conquers Netflix. The cast included Viki Gabor’s family
There are no recognizable names in the series’ cast, but there are many interesting characters. The production featured, among others: the family of the famous singer Viki Gabor, who repeatedly emphasized how important family is to her:
I have Romani roots, and my mother still sings and dances in the Romani band Kale Jakha (Czarne Eyes). She taught me how to place sounds, phrasing, emission and interpretation. I admired her on stage and she and my father are my first music gurus,” she said in an interview with Tygodnik Solidarność.
Now that the series has already gained great popularity, it is quite possible that the singer’s loved ones will also become famous. Her sister, Melisa Gabor, plays Aśka, and the father of the family, Dariusz Dabor, plays the role of Józef’s (Branko Djurić) bodyguard. Although their roles are episodic, fans of the young singer quickly noticed their presence in the series.
Moreover, they believe that Melisa Gabor is very similar to her sister, who is three years younger than her. Last year, Viki posted a photo with her older sister on Instagram, and many commenters pointed out the great similarity they share.
