Since 1997, through her Pies Descalzados Foundation, the legendary singer has founded three educational institutions in Barranquilla, providing educational opportunities for more than 5,000 young people.
The recent Nuevo Bosque Pies Descalzados school is proof of this commitment. With an investment of more than 16,000 million pesos, the school was partly financed by the Barranquilla District with 11,000 million dollars and the rest, which amounts to 5,700 million dollars, was contributed by the Pies Descalzos Foundation together with collaborators such as Fundación La Caixa, the LCI Foundation and the FC Barcelona Foundation .
