Well, a change in the color of the needles inside the plant is a normal phenomenon. Brown needles fall off over time, so the best thing you can do is shake them off and clean them up. The thuja will certainly turn green next season. The situation is slightly different if the bush turns brown outside, because then we are dealing with a disease or pests. In such a case, it is worth preparing a garlic spray. Crush 6 cloves, pour a liter of water and set aside for 24 hours. After this time, strain the mixture, pour it into a spray bottle and spray the plants twice a day.

Sometimes, brown needles are the result of larger problems. There may be several reasons for the browning of thuja.

  • Bad fertilizer. Improperly selected fertilizer may cause the needles to fall. A similar situation may happen if we fertilize the bush too abundantly. Remember to use fertilizer intended for thuja and follow the recommendations on the packaging.
