“Little Things”, “Sen o future”, “Pożyczny” or “Księżniczka” are just a few of the many singles that have become big hits and have been conquering the charts for years. She has four studio albums to her credit, most of which have achieved platinum status, and crowds gather at her concerts. However, she could not fully enjoy her success for a long time. What price did she have to pay for her career?
Her career path was bumpy. At the beginning of her career, she had to endure a lot of humiliation
Sylwia Grzeszczak quickly learned not only about the highlights, but also the shadows of fame. In a moving interview, she opened up about her traumatic experiences in show business. She admitted that her career was “bought with a lot of sacrifices”, and each live performance was accompanied by great emotions, but unfortunately most of them were not positive. – I felt that in the industry I didn’t always suit everyone, and it didn’t really suit everyone. (…) I have come through a difficult path in show business. During these 15 years, I never talked about it, I was afraid, she admitted honestly. It turns out that initially no one took her seriously and with respect. There were times when harsh words were said about her just before performances. – I was treated badly many times. So much bitterness accumulated in me that the cup overflowed, she recalled.
In the first years of her career, she almost constantly fell victim to unfounded attacks that affected her well-being. She had the wrong people around her, who had a completely different goal than hers. Despite the obstacles thrown at her feet, she always tried to rise to the occasion and put on a good face when playing badly. – More than 10 years ago, right before performances, including in Sopot, I was scolded – she said. – But when I was on stage, I never showed people that something was wrong, my voice never broke, she said.
Grzeszczak recalls difficult cooperation. She lived under constant stress for many years
But that’s not all. Over time, unfavorable rumors began to appear about the subject. The colorful press was full of articles about her allegedly absurd behavior. She realized that someone was deliberately creating situations in which she appeared unsympathetic and bitter in order to negatively impact her reputation. – I felt socially deprived. (…) they tried to completely deprive me of the joy of creating and destroy my private life – she said. She soon realized who was behind it all.
When she realized that further cooperation had no future, she tried to object. Then she began to be intimidated and threatened. For this reason, instead of enjoying her successes, which were constantly increasing, she was afraid of what would happen to her the next day. – I was worried that my manager would call me before bed and scold me again. It got to the point that I couldn’t sleep, I stayed awake because I felt constant fear – she recalled the traumatic moments. Today, Grzeszczak wants her story to be a warning to others who, like her many years ago, dream of releasing an album and standing on a big stage. – Nobody has the right to force you or take away your dignity – she concluded.
