The actor sent his wife a text message three days before his death. She understood him after years. “It got to me”

Maciej, or rather Marian Kozłowski, was born on September 8, 1957 in Kargowa. The actor was known to a wide audience, among others. from the series “M jak miłość” and “Odpowiedzi” and from roles in the films “With Fire and Sword” and “The Witcher”. He got involved with acting accidentally, thanks to a friend from a technical school who was trying to get into a film school in Łódź. The actor has been involved in charity many times and in 2005 he took part in the “Krewniacy” campaign organized by Radosław Pazura. When he wanted to donate blood, he heard that he was infected with the hepatitis C virus. He fought the disease for five years, and his beloved, Agnieszka Kowalska, was still by his side.

He is an increasingly successful actor, she is a painter who creates portraits. Their acquaintance began when Agnieszka Kowalska she painted his image and then decided to go to Warsaw to personally give it to him. They both had serious relationships and did not think about getting involved with anyone. However, fate wanted it differently, and the couple had strong feelings for dogs. They bought and renovated a house in Szydłowiec, which was transformed into a shelter for stray animals. In one of the interviews, as quoted by the magazine, the painter emphasized.

It’s not just some falling in love, it’s love! I will give it to Maciek until the end of my days.

Unfortunately, the actor and the painters did not enjoy shared happiness for long. In 2005, when Kozłowski learned that he was infected with the hepatitis C virus, he immediately began treatment. During his illness, the actor could count on the support of his beloved, thanks to which he maintained faith and optimism in difficult times. The couple got married on the last day of the year, December 31, 2008. The actor fought against the disease on May 11, 2010. In an interview with “Dobry Tygodnia”, Agnieszka Kowalska, as quoted by “Viva”, confessed that three days before his death he wrote his wife a text message saying:

‘Strong women don’t go after being asked.’ I didn’t understand these words. […] I was a little angry because he was leaving me alone, with debts, and with the renovation of the house. Only later did everything become clear. The first two years were very difficult, but I noticed that many things were falling into place. Problems sort of solve themselves. Then it dawned on me that Maciej was helping me from above, so I didn’t have to “follow the request”

When Kozłowski heard the devastating news about the disease, he accepted it calmly. He immediately began treatment and believed that he would recover. He remained professionally active and did not accept the reduced tariff. He kept repeating, as I quote:

I’m as healthy as a horse, but unfortunately I only have an infected liver. I don’t argue with verdicts. It is worth remembering that at the moment of conception we get a new life and a new death. You should live as if every day was your last. I still have some work to do. We have to live and bear witness.

Despite the diagnosis, the actor he did not remain indifferent to the fate of others. He helped the poor and the homeless and was also involved in various charitable activities. He also supported the activities of organizations fighting cancer. He organized collections to save animals, including: he saved horses intended for sale to slaughterhouses and stray animals. He was a frequent guest at schools, where he invited people to the National Theater in Warsaw. He did not intend to give up and cared about others until his last days.
