What can you do on sick leave? You will find the recommendations on the document you received
And what can you actually do while staying there? It all depends on the code found on the document issued by the doctor. The purpose of staying at L4 is to recover, which is why every patient has the right to leave the place of stay if he or she goes to see a doctor, to a pharmacy to buy medicines, or for rehabilitation and other similar treatments recommended by a doctor. We can also find the number 1 or 2 on a sick leave certificate. 1 means that the patient should and can leave home only in the above-mentioned situations. 2, on the other hand, allows for a bit more freedom, such as going for a short walk. We can also find various codes on sick leave. What do they mean?
- Code A – inability to work after a break not exceeding 60 days. It is caused by the same disease that caused the inability to work before the break;
- Code B – inability to work during pregnancy;
- Code C – incapacity caused by alcohol abuse;
- Code D – incapacity caused by tuberculosis;
- Code E – incapacity caused by an infectious disease whose development period is longer than 14 days, or another disease whose symptoms are visible after a period longer than 14 days from the onset of the disease.
