Cristian Cortez Galecio, renowned Ecuadorian playwright and screenwriter, will participate in the lecture series of the master’s program in Journalism and Communication Management at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG) next Wednesday, September 13.
The topic Cortez Galecio will discuss is “The Society of the Spectacle, from Debord to the Present, Cultural Appropriation and Gore Capitalism.”

His most notable works are Rose soufflé, with which he won the V National Literature Competition of the Municipality of Guayaquil in 2000; And Cockroaches, with which he won the José Martínez Queirolo National Playwriting and Contemporary Creation Competition of the House of Ecuadorian Culture.
On a professional level, the 51-year-old Guayaquil native with a PhD in communication studies worked as a television screenwriter in Ecuavisa for more than 20 years; and was a professor at the Espíritu Santo, Ecotec, Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil and the State Universities of Guayaquil. (D)
