The producer of “Barbie” is working on a film adaptation of the cult series

“Murder She Wrote”, an American crime drama from the 1980s and 1990s, is getting a new film adaptation. Amy Pascal, producer of this year’s hit “Barbie” and the “Spider-Man” series, will be responsible for the production. What else is known about the film?

According to Variety, work on the adaptation of “She Wrote:” began even before . Screenwriters Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo then signed a contract with Universal Pictures. However, they decided to suspend work on the script until an agreement is reached between the screenwriters’ guild and AMPTP. The film’s producer is Amy Pascal, who was responsible for, among others, “Little Women.”

In November, the latest film by screenwriters Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo titled “Amateur Investors” will be released in Polish cinemas. The production tells the story of “WallStreetBets”, a group of Reddit users who managed to increase the value of shares of a chain of stores offering, among others, electronic equipment.

“Murder She Wrote” is one of the most popular series of the 80s and 90s.

“Murder She Wrote” was broadcast on CBS from 1984 to 1996. Three more feature films were later made. The main character of the series is Jessica Fletcher (played by Angela Lansbury), a crime writer living in the small town of Cabot Cove. One day he decides to get involved in solving criminal mysteries.

Angela Lansbury, who plays the main role, was nominated for an Emmy 12 times for her role in the series. She also won four Golden Globes for her role in Murder She Wrote. The script for the original series was written by Peter S. Fischer, Richard Levinson and William Link.
