The Sevillian singer María Jiménez died this Thursday at the age of 73, according to her family.

In almost fifty years of musical career, the singer, dancer and actress published eighteen albums, in addition to acting in films and television series. Among her recognitions, she was awarded in 2022 the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and also the Medal of the City of Seville.

In 1976 he published his first album and his song “It’s over” (1978), which recounted the end of an abusive relationship, was one of his first hits.

During the 1980s he continued recording and releasing albums. In 2002 he published the album “Donde más duele (Canta por Sabina)” which covers the songs of Joaquín Sabina, and his last album was “La vida a mi forma” in 2020.
