The NGO for which the aid worker worked has reported that the vehicle in which four members of her team were traveling, from Sloviansk to Bakhmut to assess the needs of civilians caught in the crossfire in the city of Ivanivske, received a Russian attack Saturday morning.

In the vehicle they were traveling German medical volunteer Ruben Mawickthe Swedish volunteer Johan Mathias Thyr, the Canadian Anthony ‘Tonko’ Ihnat and the Spanish volunteer Emma Igual.

According to the first information from the NGO, the first two volunteers they were injuredwhile the Canadian aid worker had been confirmed and Igual’s status was unknown.

She was also the director and co-founder of Road to Relief, an NGO that since 2022 has been helping in Ukraine by evacuating civilians from the front and delivering humanitarian aid in the areas most affected by the war.
