Few auctions have generated as much expectation as the one that opened this Wednesday in the Sotheby’s room. Up to 59 objects that belonged to Freddie Mercury, singer of Queen who died in 1991, have begun to be auctioned in London.

In this collection, we find all kinds of objects that belonged to the historic singer. We can see the gate of the Garden Lodge, the house where Freddie spent his last days; also works of art such as paintings, sculptures, lamps or clocks that were in his homes, also paintings of Picasso, Salvador Dali and Joan Ferrer Miró.

What attracts the most attention in this collection may be the outfits that the singer wore on his tours, including a kimono that he wore in 1976. They can also be purchased drafts of Queen’s best-known songs written by Mercury himselffrom ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ to ‘Somebody to Love’.

Undoubtedly, the most precious item in this auction is Freddie Mercury’s piano, which, as the auction house says, was the instrument “used for compose some of the greatest songs of the 20th century”.

In total, 59 lots in which they are also the cape and crown by Freddie Mercury, his slippers Adidas or a large number of private photos of the artistmany of them accompanied by their cats.
