The film was released at the end of July last year and in just one week its viewership reached 48 million viewers. The melodrama immediately went to the top of the rankings in more than 50 countries, even surpassing the production of “Gray Man”. Viewers rating the film on Rotten Tomatoes were also satisfied, where it was recommended by as much as 83% of the audience. Film critics looked at him not very favorably, but their assessments did not help much, especially in the face of the huge popularity of “Purple Hearts”.
In an interview with People magazine, Nicholas Galitzine addressed questions about the second part of “Purple Hearts”. The actor, whom we could see, among others, in the new film adaptation of “Cinderella”, admitted that the continuation seems to be a reasonable idea. However, he did not confirm whether the producers are actually considering making a sequel.
“We’ll see what happens for sure. We’re even joking privately about what’s going to happen and how to possibly continue the story, because the script would have to be good. It would have to make sense. It would have to work. It could be done in many different ways and we’ll wait and we’ll see if it’s the right story, but it’s fun to see people asking for a sequel.”
Sofia Carson, who played the role of Cassie, added that she herself is curious how the fate of the main characters in “Purple Hearts” would have turned out. Unfortunately, so far these are only speculations, because nothing is known about the potential continuation of this love story.
“Now fans are clamoring for a sequel and there are so many theories about potential spin-offs, so of course it’s wonderful to think about Cassie and Luke’s life outside of this film.
