Krzysztof Kiljański was interested in music as a child. Already in his school days, he performed with sung poetry or at reviews of acting songs. In the 1990s, he decided to permanently pursue a musical career. At the beginning, he gave concerts with the Silesian Military Stage in Wrocław, and was associated primarily with jazz. Finally, 2003 came and Krzysztof Kiljański started working on his debut album. In 2004, he participated in the Polish qualifying rounds for the 49th Song Contest. His song “Stay” took 10th place. After this failure, the musician returned to work on the album, which was released on January 24, 2005.

The album was promoted by the single “Besides you, nothing” performed in a duet with. The song did not immediately become a hit, but when it reached a wide audience, it was second to none. The song won at the 42nd National Festival of Polish Song in Opole, won the Super One statuette, went platinum, and a year later Krzysztof Kiljański returned home from the Fryderyk Awards gala with two statuettes – for the best song and for the best vocalist of the year. The artist reigned on the charts, sang in TV shows and during the most popular Polish festivals. – It’s a beautiful song. The whole sequence of events related to the recording and release of the debut album, cooperation with Kayah are absolutely important to me. Thanks to Kasia, I made my phonographic debut and it was a very good debut – he said years later in the portal. – Fortunately, there are other songs that people associate me with – he added.

After considerable success, Kiljański decided to withdraw from show business. He disappeared for several years. In 2011, he got involved in the “Projekt Grechuta” concert tour, and started working on the next album. The return after a long break was interrupted by a serious car accident. The musician was going to Poznań for the concert “Become a Cabaret Star”. After the accident, he spent several months in the hospital and, as he himself recalled, the experience had a significant impact on his life. – I am the main culprit of what happened. It was clearly my fault. […] This accident was the result of my carelessness – at Grazia. He admitted that he re-evaluated his life, began to appreciate his family and gave up alcohol. – I have not changed physically and metaphysically. I’m still the same guy, only I think more seriously about life, about myself as a husband, father – he added.

Today, Krzysztof Kiljański still lives away from the spotlight. He got married in 1995 and has a son, but rarely talks about his family in detail. He revealed the secret in 2017 in an interview when he talked about his wedding and the recipe for a happy relationship. – I think that you have to learn from mistakes, draw conclusions, strive and try as if we had just met – he emphasized. In 2017, he returned with a new single. He still gives concerts. He even played in Thailand during his career. In July, he performed in Ostróda during the “Wodecki Twist” festival alongside Kayah, Kuba Badach and Alicja Majewska. He plays both in front of a wide audience, as well as at smaller events such as festivals.
