Ewa Farna mercilessly about the Czech media. “This is harassment”

Ewa Farna has been present on both the Polish and Czech markets for years. The singer, born in the Czech Republic, does not have a good word about the Czech media.

as one of the few singers successfully operating on two markets. Present in the Czech Republic and Poland, the singer also faces the dark side of her profession – with the constant observation of fans and the media. In an honest interview for the o2.pl portal, she told how she is treated outside our country.

Ewa Farna on harassment by the Czech media

It turns out that in terms of the approach to stars, the Polish media are doing really well. Ewa Farna has a comparison, because she sees how the Czech and Polish media approach her. Although tabloids in Poland can be virulent, they stick to certain unwritten boundaries. In an interview with o2, Ewa Farna spoke harshly about how the Czechs treat her:

For me, the gossip media is definitely sharper in the Czech Republic. Although I have the impression that thanks to my openness about “body positive”, they calmed down a bit. I showed them that I am steadfast and they can write badly, but it has been cyberbullying for some time now. It’s not cool because the media also educates people and how people perceive what is normal and what is not. Everyone wrote to me in the Czech Republic that I was fat, and I made a song out of it and it’s my most popular song there – the singer summed up.

And indeed, just a few days ago, the number one topic in one of the Czech portals was .

The Czech media hounded another singer

Ewa Farna also cited the story of another star who was hounded by the media as a warning:

I remember there was a singer who had mental problems. She was sick, she obviously needed treatment, she had strong problems all the time. And the media was following her all the time. They followed her to every institution she went to for treatment. They said the worst things about her. And one editor wrote one day: “We will kill her someday with this behavior.” And she really killed herself. She couldn’t take it anymore, Farna said.

She probably cited the story of Iveta Bartoszowa – singer, actress and celebrity. The woman tried to play her own game with the Czech media, who ruthlessly exploited her. Her every gesture, everything she did – publicly and privately – was broken down into prime factors. Worse, she also surrounded herself only with people who thought about their own gain, not about her well-being. The words quoted by Farna were said in 2013 by Paweł Nowotny, the main publisher of the Extra.cz website: “Of course we kill her. But she also kills herself. We have been preying on her for years. In this case, there are no boundaries and we will be on her to feed until its end – and then for another six months. It’s difficult and morally wrong, but that’s how it works” – he said.

Even when she was hospitalized, special programs devoted to her life appeared in the Czech media, watched by Czechs with great interest. According to Wikipedia, the show about Bartoszowa was watched by as many as seven percent of Czechs – almost a million people (the Czech population in 2013 was 10.5 million people). Zaszczuta Bartoszowa committed suicide in 2014.
