The 33-year-old actress was born on August 24, 1990 in Paris, from where five years later she moved with her whole family to Melbourne, Australia. Her parents were both professional dancers – her father is of Polish descent and her mother is of Irish descent. Debicki always proudly talks about his European origin!
Polish blood flows in Elizabeth Debicki’s veins!
The actress has never lived in our country. After moving to Melbourne, her mother opened a ballet school, which made Elizabeth want to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a little girl. However, when she grew up, her unusual height stood in the way of her ballerina career – Debicki is over 190 cm tall. It was then that she decided to devote herself to ballroom dancing, but it was acting that began to give her the greatest joy.
Debicki emphasizes in many conversations that she has strong ties to Poland. In one of the interviews for “Dzień Dobry TVN” she said that she often visits her family who lives in our country. She also confessed that she does not know Polish – she speaks French with her father and communicates with his family in English.
Interestingly, Debicki also revealed that she is interested in Polish cinematography. “When you think about Polish films and Polish filmmakers, you can see a great talent for telling stories. Sometimes I think that it was the Polish part of me that drew me to acting” – she said in “Dzień Dobry TVN”.
Debicki is a true film chameleon
She gained the greatest recognition thanks to her role in the 5th season of “The Crown”, where she played the role of Princess Diana, but the actress has also had other high-profile roles. She played, among others in “The Great Gatsby” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, “Kryptonym UNCLE” with Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer in the lead role, or “Widows” with Colin Farrell in the cast.
However, the actress is a very modest person. Despite many successes, he does not like to talk about his private life and does not run profiles in social media. In February, she was caught walking with her then-boyfriend Kristian Rasmussen, but by May they were no longer together. It is worth mentioning her words from an interview with The Guardian seven years ago: “Do I have a boyfriend-girlfriend? (…) I’d rather not say. I’ll keep it to myself.”
