It turns out that many children from all over Poland with dysfunctions and disabilities, aged 6 to 17, were neglected at the summer camps in Rajgród.
A series of neglects in the colonies. “There was no lifeguard”
Summer camps for children with dysfunctions and disabilities were held from 15 to 25 August. Price for a 10-day stay: approx. PLN 3.5 thousand. zloty. It turns out, however, that despite a considerable amount of money, there was a lot of negligence at the summer camps, as reported by Stanisław Krząkała, a former educator. – The organizer did not provide a lifeguard, although the biggest attraction was the lake. A large group of children also required medication, but there was no nurse with the appropriate qualifications on site – describes a man with 27 years of experience as a tutor.
He reacted to scandalous conditions – as a result, he was fired
Stanisław Krząkała claims, however, that there were more neglects in the colonies in Rajgród. For example, the organizers assured about the possibility of participating in the therapeutic program of the so-called “Aggression Replacement Training” – even though there were no specialists on site. These and other situations prompted the former educator to react and protest immediately – as a result, he claims, he was dismissed with immediate effect.
Nevertheless, Mr. Stanisław stated that the situation required further intervention. The man informed the prosecutor’s office about the possibility of committing a crime “against the health and life of camp participants”. Information about the potential threat also reached the police in Grajewo and the school board in Białystok. The audit showed that there were many more deficiencies. – We received information from one of the parents that the girl got lost while returning from the store. She called 112, was found by the police and taken to a place of rest. Her mother also informed us that daughter was not given her medication properly – says Barbara Szutko, spokeswoman for the Podlaskie Superintendent of Education through Fakt.
