Jerzy and Barbara Stuhr met when they were children – they were more or less 5 years old. Although initially they did not draw attention to each other, they were encouraged to dance the krakowiak in a couple. Jerzy wasn’t supposed to be very good at dancing, which his future wife didn’t like. In the following years, they saw each other at school and attended the same religion classes. Love came along with leaving to study in Krakow. Jerzy studied acting, and Barbara got into the Academy of Music. – Jurek is not an easy type. It was a natural state for me. I feel that my profession has taken away something from my home happiness. But I wouldn’t trade it. My luck was that my wife understood this. She didn’t fight it. It gave me the freedom to be realized – said Stuhr in one of the interviews.

In 2011, the actor was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer. Barbara took care of him during this difficult time. Although the situation was very difficult for her, she tried not to show it. Then he had a second stroke. – When I got sick, I said: “There is no way, we need to renovate our family tomb. How will people pass by to make it look something like this.” And now, when I go there, I show the tomb and say to my wife: “Look, wasted money…” – said Stuhr in 2017 in “!”. After years of marriage, the couple appreciates the moments together. Barbara speaks warmly about her husband. – I think that my strength is also that Jurek sees me all the time. I feel beautiful to my husband. I’ve been wearing one-piece swimsuits at the beach for years; I am already my age, and they gave me safe comfort.
