The information about the artist’s death was confirmed in an interview with the Plejada portal by the singer’s husband, Roman Froń. Irena Woźniacka has recently been seriously ill and struggled with sepsis. Froń informed that the star’s funeral will take place in early September in Stare Babice near Warsaw. Fans of the singer remember her in beautiful words. They write: “wonderful”, “unique”, “strong, beautiful voice”, “classy woman”, “great pity”.

Irena Woźniacka was born on October 20, 1945 in Ciechanowiec. In 1965, she made her debut as a jazz vocalist with Andrzej Mazurkiewicz’s band. Three years later, she performed with the artist at the “Jazz nad Odrą” student jazz festival. She appeared in Opole for the first time in 1969, but not as a singer, but as a model. In between concerts, she presented the collections of “Dana” Clothing Company. Four years later, at the same event, she received the audience award in the “Interpretation” competition.
In the years 1971–1974 she sang with the band Waganci alongside Anna Jantar. In addition, she also performed with Czerwono-Czarni, and then began her career as a soloist. She quickly achieved success thanks to the soldier’s song. In 1972, she won the Silver Ring at the Soldiers’ Song Festival in Kołobrzeg. A year later, she was awarded by the audience at the National Festival of Polish Song Opole ’73. In 1974, 1977 and 1984, she was awarded the Golden Rings at the Soldiers’ Song Festival in Kołobrzeg.
The artist has released two studio albums – “Dżinsowy Świat” and “Miss Polonia”. As reported by Interia, most of the songs that we can hear on the albums were composed for the singer by Ryszard Poznakowski, a musician known from the Trubadurzy group.
