Easy Busy Fest was supposed to start on August 26. This exciting musical event will bring together the best artists on one stage, and their performances will create unforgettable emotions for everyone. Various Ukrainian artists were to appear at the event, from representatives of rock, through pop, to hip-hop and electronic music. Among the stars, musicians such as Okean Elzy, The Hardkiss, Lyapis Trubetskoy, Parfeniuk, Kola, Dantes, Yaktak, Skofka, Velboi and Sadsvit were announced.

Just days before the event, the event was canceled. A statement from the organizers appeared on social media, in which they admit to a shameful mistake and apologize for the misunderstanding.
What was it about? It turned out that the sponsors of the event included companies related to Russia. Ukrainian activist, founder of the Stand with Ukraine foundation, Natalya Panchenko, pointed out that the festival full of bands from the country attacked by Putin’s army is to be sponsored by Monolith and Mix Markt. “These brands belong to the same owners. These people come from Russia and, I believe, Kazakhstan, registered their business in Germany and are known to have a network of Russian stores in Europe, which is also entering Poland this year,” writes Panchenko in fast. According to the activist, a significant part of the goods of these brands is produced in Russia. “They deliberately mislead consumers on the Polish website. Only Ukrainian brands were published there on purpose.”

It didn’t take long for the artists to react. All unanimously refused to participate in the event. The star of the Okean festival Elzy issued a statement: “The basic and fundamental condition of all events in which we participate is the absence of any connection with the aggressor – Russia.”
“We are forced to resign from participation in Easy Busy Fest in Warsaw. We are very sorry that the organizers did not inform the artists that they added a company to the group of sponsors at the last minute, which is related to the country of the aggressors. Such cooperation is unacceptable to us” – write members of The Hardkiss.

The organizers of the event issued a statement in which they apologized for their oversight. “First of all, we want to apologize for our fatal mistake, namely the inattentive verification of sponsors,” we read on social media. At the same time, the creators of the festival emphasize that they have been supporting Ukraine from the very first day of the war. “We send part of the funds from each concert to help Ukraine’s armed forces, and this festival would be no exception in this matter,” the organizers point out, who emphasize that their actions were not intentional and are only the result of unfortunate negligence.
