During the investigation, it turned out that on that day the woman went to meet the then 31-year-old Krzysztof, whom she met on the Internet. He later changed his testimony and blamed her for complicity. Marta K. did not admit to this act. According to the prosecution, the couple implemented a mutually agreed plan. Ultimately, the court found the first testimony of the accused to be credible. In November 2012, the man was sentenced to life imprisonment, and his wife to 9 years in prison. Although the defense appealed against the sentence, it was upheld by the Court of Appeal in Łódź in 2013. Its justification has been classified.
