The film “Różyczka” presents the story of the well-known writer Adam Warczewski (played by Andrzej Seweryn), who starts an affair with Kamila, who is younger than him (). He does not know that the woman under the pseudonym TW Różyczka cooperates with the SB and is in a relationship with one of the officers (Robert Więckiewicz), and her task is to collect information about Warczewski. Directed by Jan Kidawa-Błoński, the film was released in cinemas in 2010. 13 years later, viewers waited for the second part.

The film “Różyczka 2” focuses on the fate of Kamila’s daughter, Joanna Warczewska, MEP. Her happiness is interrupted first by a terrorist attack in which her husband dies, and then by the appearance of a blackmailer. When Warczewska starts her fight for the president’s seat, she receives photos and documents that undermine what she thought about her family until now. The information could destroy her career. So Joanna decides to investigate on her own to discover the truth. The role of Joanna will be played by Magdalena Boczarska, next to whom we will see Robert Więckiewicz again. The film “Różyczka 2” will also feature Janusz Gajos (as an influential politician), Jacek Braciak (agent), as well as Maria Seweryn, Mateusz Banasiuk and Paweł Małaszyński. The first trailer has already appeared online. The film directed by Jan Kidawa-Błoński will hit cinemas on October 20, 2023.
They didn’t want the second part, but changed their mind. “It was a closed story”
Initially, there were no plans for a sequel to the story presented in the 2010 film. And although the audience was interested in the question of who is the father of Kamila’s child and what was the finale of the whole story, the answer had to wait. – It was a closed story. It was supposed to end with a shot from 1968 at the Gdański Railway Station in Warsaw. However, over time, screenwriter Maciej Karpiński came to the conclusion that it is worth giving the viewers an answer. He decided to add the further fate of the characters, emphasizes Kidawa-Błoński.
The script for the film “Różyczka” was loosely based on real events and the biography of Paweł Jasienica. In December 1969, he married Zofia O’Bretenny, an agent who, throughout their relationship and several months after their marriage (the historian died in August 1970 after a serious illness), reported on him to the SB. In 2010, Jan Kidawa-Błoński clearly emphasized that the film is not about the life of Paweł Jasienica.
