Małgorzata Kożuchowska sometimes listened to unpleasant comments about her own father. For years, Leszek Kożuchowski was associated with Tadeusz Rydzyk – an entrepreneur, Redemptorist, clergyman and founder of Radio Maryja and the Higher School of Social and Media Culture.
As a resident of Toruń, Leszek Kożuchowski was “close” to Radio Maryja. He hosted his own weekly broadcast “Porady ecologist” at the station, in which he told, among others, about the natural environment and sometimes treated the antenna as a lecture hall. However, as a professional, he did not infuse his listeners with anti-scientific theories, but spoke directly about environmental pollution, the harmfulness of coal and the need to segregate waste. He also worked as a lecturer – also at the Rydzyk University. He taught ecology and pedagogy there, he was also a member of the university council.
Father’s relationship with the Redemptorist was sometimes a source of unpleasant comments for Ma³gorzata Ko¿uchowska. The acting world is perceived as “the liberal one”, while Tadeusz Rydzyk and his media are generally considered to be extremely politicized, anti-Semitic, anti-progressive, anti-EU, etc.
The impressive career of Leszek Kożuchowski in Toruń alongside his father Tadeusz often cast a shadow on the reputation of his daughter Małgosia. In the artistic environment, the charismatic Redemptorist never aroused good associations. That is why the actress often had to face unpleasant comments about her father’s relationship with Tadeusz Rydzyk – we read in the magazine “Viva!”.
Earlier, in an interview with the magazine “Zwierciadło”, she said that she was called “Catholic” and “sectarian” behind her back.
Kożuchowski’s role with Rydzyk ended with his retirement. The senior of the family moved to Warsaw with his wife when Małgorzata Kożuchowska gave birth to a son. “Grandfather teaches him the names of flowers, birds and trees, reads him books. In his free time, he takes care of the garden at Małgosia’s house,” we read in the weekly “World and People”.
