Cuttings from trimmed thuja branches. How to get them?

If you want to spend on new seedlings, use healthy, several-year-old specimens that are not attacked by disease. Importantly, the choice of the right thuja will later affect the appearance, growth rate and color of the new seedling. Once you have selected the thuja, take young shoots from its upper part or the top of the branch. They should be about 15 cm long. The selected fragment should be woody and covered with bark to a length of about 1 cm. The longer one can be successfully trimmed with scissors, but do not remove it entirely. Otherwise, the plant will not root. Cut branches to a length of 10 cm and get rid of branches at the woody part of the shoot.

After how long does thuja take root? Thanks to this method, you will quickly get beautiful seedlings

the cuttings should be placed in the rooting agent as soon as possible. You can use both a homemade preparation and a store-bought remedy. After a few hours, put the thujas in pots filled with garden soil, peat and sand. How to do it? All you have to do is make holes 4 cm deep, insert the seedlings (the so-called heel should be at the bottom), cover them with soil and water them. Remember not to expose the pots to direct sunlight and store them in a bright room with a temperature of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. Water regularly to keep the soil in the pot constantly moist, and the thuja will take root after about 2-3 months.
