Taco Hemingway is now undoubtedly one of the most important voices in Polish rap. He took the market by storm in 2015, when, after the success of the concept mini-album “Warsaw Triangle”, he released another EP, “Contract for work”, in which he authentically describes the life of young people in Warsaw.
Since then, he has released five studio albums, three EPs and took part in projects such as: TACONAFIDE or club2020. It is to this last project that he has recently devoted himself. This is a supergroup made up of artists associated with the 2020 label, of which Taco is a co-owner.
Taco again in a summer and nostalgic atmosphere
Many of the fans thought that the rapper would certainly not release a new album this year. However, it has been said for some time that Taco may surprise. And that’s exactly what happened! At midnight on Thursday, August 17, two numbers of Rumak’s production appeared on streaming services, which herald the rapper’s new album entitled. “1-800-Enlightenment”.
The first one is the bittersweet “Gelato”, in which the rapper introduces us to the mood of the passing summer. A clip was created for the song by Iga Lis and Mateusz Dziekoński, which is available on YouTube. The second track is “Makarena Freestyle” recorded in one take, in which there is a reference to Mata and his hit from two years ago. “I thought I wouldn’t write a hit anymore when Eska was playing ‘Kiss Cam'” – we hear in the issue.
“1-800-Oświatenie” is announced as a conceptual album, but not as a feature, as was the case with the earlier “Marmur”. Simultaneously with the double premiere on streaming services, the preorder of the album was launched. The album will be released by 2020 label, and its premiere is scheduled for Friday, September 22 (so the last day of the calendar summer).
