Miss Chile Universe is crowned: Celeste Viel is the daughter of the famous Chilean presenter Felipe Viel, and her parents met at the pageant where her mother Paula Caballero won 30 years ago

Chile already has its representative for Miss Universe 2023, which will be held on November 18 in El Salvador. The lucky one is Celeste Viel, who won the national pageant for Miss Chile Universe on August 13.

The young woman has been modeling since she was 15, but she is also deeply connected to the catwalks, pageants and the entertainment world thanks to her parents, the famous Chilean host Felipe Viel and the model and former beauty queen Paula Caballero who was Miss Chile in 1993, as People en Español recalls.

“My first breakfast as Miss Universe Chile 2023. A dream come true. Thank you for so much love and support, see you in El Salvador”, wrote Celeste Viel on her Instagram profile where she shared pictures from her bed and like a queen with her crown and band that accredits her as the representative of her country in the Miss Universe.

Viel lives with her family in Miami, where she studied public relations at Florida International University, although she traveled to her homeland to participate in a national competition with the band Comunidad Extranjera.

Her family also traveled to Chile to support Celeste Viel in the pageant that gave her a direct pass to Miss Universe.

“Hey @celeviel today you went from being your daddy’s princess to being the queen of #chile! What a huge responsibility you have been given! Miss Universe Chile 2023,” wrote proud father Felipe Viel alongside a photo of his eldest daughter as a child.

He later added a second post with a video of Celeste being crowned Miss Chile Universo.

“Let’s go Miss Universe. Congratulations, Celeste Viel”, commented Felipe, who in the past was the host of the program “Escándalo TV”, broadcast by Univisión, and other television programs.

His career on television dates back to the 90s, and according to the magazine, he met Paula Caballero at a competition in 1993 where she was the winner. From there, they began writing their love story, which they sealed with their marriage in 1999. The couple has two daughters, Celeste and Almendra, and they adopted three more, Trevor, Nevaeh and little Anna, according to the column En Cancha de Tiempox.

Celeste Viel will begin her preparations for Miss Universe where she will try to secure a placement for her country after almost 20 years.

Chile last made it to the 15 finalists in 2004 with Gabriela Barros Tapia, and the only time the country won Miss Universe was in 1987 with the victory of Cecilia Bolocco Fonck. (AND)
