Fans of “” waited with great impatience for the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. The series, however, divided viewers. Those who have the work of the Polish writer in their little finger seem to be the most critical online. They accuse the serial production of too much simplification, mental shortcuts and lazy solutions.

On Rotten Tomatoes, critics gave the show’s second season the best rating (95 percent). In turn, the viewers in the third season of the series did not leave a dry thread, it gained only 19 percent on the freshness scale. The creators of the series face a huge challenge, and the problems associated with the fourth season of the series are not diminishing.
The premiere of the next episodes set in the “The Witcher” universe will probably be delayed due to the ongoing strike of actors and screenwriters in Hollywood. In addition, the filmmakers must find a way to introduce a new Geralt to the series as little as possible for Henry Cavill fans.
The actor known for his role as Superman will be replaced from the fourth season by Liam Hemsworth, brother of the movie Thor. Theories quickly emerged that the problem would be solved by introducing a multiverse theme to the series, which has already been used by the creators of DC comic book adaptations, Marvel, and even the Oscar winner for “Everywhere at Once”. The theory was denied by Tomasz Bagiński, who noted in an interview for “Gazeta Wyborcza” that “there is only one reality in Sapkowski’s work”. However, he suggested a different solution to the problem.

The creator mentioned the fifth volume of the saga. “I will say this: I remember the discussions when the books were published. Twenty years ago, when the fifth book was published, people were very frustrated then. Everything was turned upside down” – noted Bagiński, quoted by gram.pl.
The reader reaching for the last part of the saga, “Lady of the Lake”, finds himself in the future. He meets Nimue and her intern Condwiramurs Tilly. Together, the sorceresses investigate the legend of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, who lived long years before them. The new heroines of the books are not sure what the characters shrouded in legend looked like, because the surviving sources differ from each other. They speculate not only on the image of the heroes we know, but also on their history.
If the creators of the Netflix series actually use this thread, it may turn out that the image of Geralt played by Henry Cavill is just one of many interpretations of history, and such a person did not exist at all. Then the introduction of Liam Hemsworth will become quite simple, and even Michał Żebrowski could easily be added to the plot of the series – speculates the Redanian Intelligence portal, devoted mainly to the Witcher universe and other fantasy novels.
“In this context, the world built by Andrzej Sapkowski seems to me to be one of the most flexible in all fantasy” – says Bagiński. The creator himself admits that he likes the idea of opening the fourth season of “The Witcher” very much, but he is not sure how the audience will react.
