“Maybe it’s not the best time to post this video, because it’s about suffering and pain… and I think it’s already a lot with what they’re going through in Ecuador, but at the same time it takes us into the history of struggle, power, wars… wars that leave only scars, pain, suffering… the suffering of the most innocent… they are the ones who always bear the worst part”that’s how the journalist started Denise Molina to tell the story of Hiroshima, a Japanese city that was bombed during World War II.

Comparing the city to the chaos in Ecuador is just a reflection he made to raise awareness of how “the world would be different if we understood that neither power nor money buys true happiness… the kind of happiness that only reflects when you have peace.”

An Ecuadorian woman recently had the opportunity to visit this place, still full of pain and sadness due to the consequences of the attack in 1945. “Knowing the depth of its history, being in the museum and seeing the clothes of those who died, their stories, the indelible pain left in the population is indescribable … that makes me keep thinking about it the worst race is human…that because of fighting, money, power, wars, we only end up destroying ourselves,” he said.

By sharing his message, several followers were able to understand the background of his speech: “Your report made me cry. It’s impressive what we live through, but it’s even more impressive that the more terrible things we see, we don’t realize how terrible human beings are, we don’t want to change, we’re selfish even towards our own because what we leave behind is a legacy that will eventually inherit a world full of chaos and evil; we leave that to them”.

This month of August marks the 78th anniversary of this tragedy in Hiroshima, and after learning about it, several followers mill fear that ambition will lead Ecuador down the same path: “My dear, thank you for reminding us how bad a man can be with his ambition, and at the same time reminding us that we must learn from these terrible mistakes, thank you for making us aware that our acting can change everything in a second, we can destroy or build in a second”.
