In large cities, finding a free one is a miracle, but this problem also applies to smaller towns. If there are no places to leave the car, drivers often block the entrances to private properties, which is why the owners of plots decide to put up a special sign prohibiting parking. How should such signs be treated? Are they legal and should be treated on an equal footing with other road signs?
Can you legally buy a road sign? It’s simpler than you think
Road signs are most often purchased by public entities, but there is no ban in Poland that would prohibit the purchase of a sign by a private person. Therefore, owners of private properties can easily purchase it and hang it on the gate. The prices of signs range from PLN 100, but it happens that it is enough to buy a special information plate, which we can buy on the Internet for about PLN 10.

Can I put a sign on private property? The law is clear
According to the law, road signs may only be placed by authorized services. This means that a private person cannot put a road sign in a public place and, in accordance with Art. 85 of the Code of Petty Offences, such an offense is punishable by a fine or restriction of liberty.
