The next activity in his planning was precisely to announce his list of artists for what will be the sixth edition of the meeting. Indeed, on June 10, they had closed the call for creative candidates interested in participating in the festival, receiving 357 entries.
This suspension responds to the current situation in the country of uncertainty due to the latest violent events that have taken place. More recently, late afternoon of Wednesday, August 9 Presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was murdered assassin-style.

“Dear community, the current situation has deeply affected us. We share your feelings and concerns. In recognition of this, we are postponing the announcement of the artists for the sixth edition of Funka Fest.. We know that music can be healing and we hope that the festival is a bright spot in these dark moments,” the festival organization shared on its Instagram account (@funka_fest).
At the moment, the expected date on which the artistic event will definitively take place is also not yet known. Historically, it took place in the second half of the year, in the Palacio de Cristal (Malecón).
