August 8 is the International Female Orgasm Day. Because today?
It all started in the 2006when the councilor of Esperantina (Brazil), José Arimateia Dantas Lacerda, a law to defend, study and address women’s sexual pleasure as a public health issue.
Dantas realized that women in particular were dissatisfied with their sexuality and had difficulty climaxing, struggling to enjoy the fun. An inquiry was launched to investigate the matter further and it was concluded that the situation had to change as it was “a public health issue”for all the health benefits that come with orgasms.
The initiative went viral and eventually the date was adopted all over the world.
What is being pansexual? In Ecuador, there are people who describe themselves as such, according to a study revealing gender-sex diversity in the workplace
More “good sex” for women
Another distraction from those early studies is the need to learn more about the female orgasm. Not only is it important for women to fully understand their own bodies, it is also essential for men (or their partners in general) to learn more about female orgasms if we all want to have truly satisfying sex.
Finally, this special occasion also wants to highlight the inequality of the orgasm. The pleasure gap still exists. So why hasn’t this changed? One reason is that it takes women more than one day a year to remember the magnificence of the female orgasm and all of its health benefits. It is a matter of constant practice and also of really understanding every woman’s body, her desires and needs and how to fill her daily life with exciting little pleasures.
